Case Cloud

Case Cloud

What do I need to make sure of before uploading any patient data to the Case Cloud?

While we protect your data against unauthorized access by others, you must make sure that you have obtained permission from your patient to enter it on our systems. Depending on local legal regulations (for example, in the European Union), you may need explicit written consent from your patient before you can share their data on a third party system. The ITI does not assume any responsibility for the data you upload to your Case Cloud.

Who owns the rights to a Case I document in the Case Cloud?

The ownership of the data will always remain with you (on behalf of the patient who is the data origin).  The ITI will never claim any rights or ownership pertaining to this data. We only host the data for you.

What happens to the information I upload to the Case Cloud?

The data (text and images) that you provide are stored in your Case Cloud case. The data are transmitted via a secure connection and remain protected, which means only you have access unless you share the case with someone else or change the access permission settings.

Are the Case Cloud data safe in your system?

We regularly update and patch our systems to ensure their compliance with current security standards. The data you enter/upload are stored on our own servers and can only be accessed through tunneled sessions via your user account. If you do not forward your account details to others, your data are safe with us.

What happens if I share one of my cases with another user?

When you share a case with another user, the user is granted read permission to your case. This means that they can access your case through their personal Case Cloud in the area “Cases shared with me”. You can discontinue their access at any time by removing them from the list of users with whom you share your case.

Who has access to my Case Cloud data?

Only you have access to the data unless you share the case with someone else. Before making your case data available to others, make sure that you have obtained your patient’s permission to do so. In some countries (for example in the European Union) explicit patient consent is required before any data can be shared.

What happens when I delete a case?

When you delete a case, you will erase all records of the case.  The case will be permanently removed from our system and become irretrievable.

Do I have to anonymize patient data?

All diagnostic and clinical data (e.g. texts, images, videos) uploaded or submitted to our website are voluntary and any personal information relating to patients must be anonymized unless documented informed consent has previously been obtained from the patient (any recipient of health care services). You can find more information in the Terms of Use.

Guidelines & Templates

Guidelines & Templates

Are there any design guidelines to follow when creating ITI communications material?

The ITI unites people around the world who all share a common goal: to promote and disseminate specialist knowledge. A uniform brand design expresses the team spirit and cooperation shared by these people. Please follow these guidelines whenever creating ITI communications materials.

Who has access to the Study Club presentations and videos?

The lecture templates are provided to ITI Study Club Directors and Speakers for use in ITI Study Clubs.

What can you do with the Study Club presentations and videos?

The ITI Study Club presentations and videos are intended for use at ITI Study Club meetings.

Is it allowed to change the content of the Study Club presentations?

The presenter is free to modify the format and duration of the presentation to suit the educational requirements of the audience. To ensure a relatively uniform distribution of information throughout the ITI community, however, the content and principles contained within the presentation should not be altered in any substantial way.

Is there a difference between the Keynote Presentation and the PowerPoint Presentation?

The only difference between the Keynote Presentation (Mac/iOS) and the PowerPoint Presentation is the file type.

Who has access to the Guidelines & Templates area?

Access to this area is limited to specific functions within the ITI.

How and when are fellowship nominations approved?

The ITI Board of Directors decides on the  fellowship nominations received twice (Spring/Fall) a year.

What documents are required for fellowship nomination?

A current CV including information about education and positions as well as lectures given (if applicable), published articles in the field of  implant dentistry (if  applicable) and/or mentoring activities in the past 5 years.

SAC Tool

SAC Tool

What is the SAC Classification?

SAC stands for S(traightforward), A(dvanced) and C(omplex). The SAC framework was developed by the ITI to help practitioners assess the risks and complexity of clinical cases by providing normative classification guidelines based on scientific high-level evidence.

What is meant by “normative” classification?

No classification can adequately address cases or outcomes that deviate significantly from the norm. In this context, "normative" relates to the classification that conforms to the norm, or standard, for a given clinical situation in implant dentistry and thus to the most likely classification of a case based on contextual assumptions (e.g. patients' medical conditions are not compromised or are appropriately addressed, the clinician and the implant team are adequately skilled, recommended protocols are followed etc.)

What happens to the case information I submit for assessment?

None of the data you enter in our system to classify your cases is permanently stored if you make a standalone case assessment. If you use the SAC Assessment Tool as part of the Case Cloud, the system will automatically add the information you provide to your case documentation.

Is it possible to carry out combined Surgical/Prosthodontic assessments?

The SAC framework as established in the 2009 Quintessence publication looks at surgical and prosthodontic case assessments separately. It is not currently possible to make combined assessments.

What is the impact of the “Additional Complexity and Risk” section of the assessment?

Although the modifier values used to determine the additional complexity and risk do not have a direct impact on the basic normative case classification, some of them can have a considerable influence on the overall demands and risks of a case. If the system indicates that there is an elevated risk based on the combined additional modifier values you have entered, you need to factor this into the overall interpretation of the assessment result.

Can I generate a report for the assessments I carry out with the tool?

You can generate a PDF report of your case assessments at the end of the assessment process when the final case classification is displayed. Valid ITI membership is required to make use of this feature. Please log in before starting your assessment.
