Abstract:

Implant placement with simultaneous guided bone regeneration (GBR) presents an advanced approach to managing bone deficiencies while ensuring a time-efficient and predictable treatment outcome. By integrating GBR into a single-stage implant procedure, practitioners can enhance osseointegration and minimize patient discomfort associated with multiple surgeries. However, successful implementation requires a thorough understanding of when this combined approach is appropriate and how it can be executed with precision. In this session, we will explore the rationale for performing simultaneous GBR during implant placement, supported by clinical case studies and surgical videos that illustrate key steps and decision-making processes. Through these examples, participants will gain the knowledge to apply this technique in their own practice.

Learning Objectives:

1. Identify clinical scenarios where simultaneous GBR and implant placement can be safely and effectively performed, using real patient case examples.
2. Understand the surgical workflow for combining GBR with implant placement, including patient assessment, bone grafting techniques, and implant insertion, as demonstrated in surgical videos.
3. Develop decision-making skills to choose between single-stage GBR and a staged approach, based on clinical presentation and patient factors, with guidance from real-world case studies.
