Curriculum Vitae

Alexis Ioannidis holds the position of Head of the Division of Reconstructive Dentistry at the Clinic of Reconstructive Dentistry, University of Zurich, Switzerland. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Zurich in 2009, and subsequently earned the title of Dr. med. dent. in 2013, followed by the Venia Legendi (Habilitation) for Reconstructive Dentistry in 2021, both from the same university.

In 2016, aftercompleting a 3-year post-graduate training program at the Clinic of Reconstructive Dentistry, Alexis Ioannidis was awarded a stipend founded by the Clinical Research Foundation. This grant supported his research fellowship at the Department of Biomaterials, University of Athens, Greece.

Since 2017, Alexis Ioannidis has held the role of a full-time Senior Teaching and Research Assistant and Since 2023 as the Head of Reconstructive Dentistry at the Clinic of Reconstructive Dentistry.

Alexis Ioannidis is recognized as a specialist in reconstructive dentistry by the Swiss Society for Reconstructive Dentistry. Furthermore, he holds Master of Advanced Studies degrees in both Periodontology and Oral Implantology, both of which were obtained from the University of Zurich.

With an interest in advancing the field of prosthodontics, Alexis Ioannidis's primary scientific focus lies in the realm of minimally invasive prosthetic treatment concepts. He has contributed significantly to the field through his publication of over 30 scientific and clinical articles, with a majority of them appearing in high-ranked peer-reviewed journals.

In addition to his academic and clinical pursuits, Alexis Ioannidis actively engages with various national and international professional societies. He holds membership in several organizations, further enhancing his professional network. Notably, he serves as the Scientific President in the Board of the Swiss Society of Reconstructive Dentistry (SSRD).
