The ITI Curriculum

The ITI Curriculum
Implant dentistry from theory to practice: The ITI's universally standardized education curriculum.

The ITI Curriculum is a universally standardized education curriculum aimed at dentists who are relatively new to implant dentistry. Dentists who enroll in courses that follow the ITI Curriculum can be assured of receiving a comprehensive and high standard of dental implant education based on the ITI philosophy and principles for provision of implant therapy.

The ITI Curriculum is designed to be delivered in a blended learning educational format with e-learning, contact onsite courses, hands-on training, case-based collaborative learning and direct patient treatment under supervision. Dedicated ITI learning content is available to support delivery.

The ITI Curriculum also offers certification upon successful completion of standardized ITI formative assessments and ITI summative exams.

ITI Curriculum: Foundation and Intermediate levels

The ITI Curriculum addresses two levels: Foundation and Intermediate. A structured progress of learning provides a broad theoretical basis in implant dentistry and then successively builds on this knowledge to introduce clinical implementation and first-hand experience of treating patients.

A combination of assessments ensure successful measurement of achievement of learning objectives at every level as the participant progresses from one level to another. Participating dentists who successfully pass the standardized, summative ITI examination on completion of each of the Foundation and Intermediate levels will be awarded ITI certification.

Foundation level

The Foundation level ensures the participant has proficiency in the basic principles and science of implant dentistry with clinical knowledge of assessment, treatment planning and restoration of straightforward cases.
