Event Detail

Biologic Complications and Temporary Anchorage Devices

Dr Richard Longbottom Periodontist speaks on:

Biologic Complications and occlusal overloading in implants

When implants were first used, we thought they were almost maintenance free!

However, we are encountering more and more problems with dental implants post restoration.

Are these complications avoidable?

What is the latest protocol for checking implants and what are the interventions we can use to avoid costly remedial implant treatments?

What are we doing to follow up our patients who have had implants?

Dr Austin Kang Orthodontist speaks on:

Temporary Anchorage Devices – what are the possibilities?

Part 1: Facial profile – anchorage in the A-P plane.

“Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs) have revolutionised orthodontic treatment mechanics”

Ever since their first application, TADs have opened many doors in orthodontics and it is now common to see surgical cases being treated with orthodontics only. This includes malocclusions in all three-planes such as adult skeletal expansion, anterior open-bite, Class III treatment, dental protrusion, non-extraction Class II treatment in non-growing patients, and movement of an ankylosed tooth.

In this presentation, a case treated with the objective of improving soft tissue facial profile will be presented, highlighting why (treatment planning), how (treatment mechanics) and what (final result) can be achieved with the use of TADs.
