Late Flapless Placement of an Implant in a Maxillary Left Central Incisor Site
A 39-year-old male patient presented with a chief complaint of discomfort and gingival discoloration around his maxillary left central incisor. He was in good general health and was a non-smoker. His past dental history was significant because of the traumatic fracture of tooth 21 in a sporting accident at age 13. Initial dental treatment included endodontic therapy and a full-coverage restoration. The patient became symptomatic 5 years later, when structural failure of the tooth resulted in the dislodgment of the crown. Endodontic retreatment, apical surgery, and post-and-core restoration were performed.
