Soft tissue defects around dental implants pose unique challenges from the biologic, to the functional, to the esthetic. Typically, autogenous soft tissue grafts are employed to address these situations, but within the larger scope of seeking less invasive soft tissue grafting methods, there exists robust investment into autogenous tissue substitutes. Most research in this field involves tissue grafting around teeth, but what is the state of the art and the state of the literature in the application of tissue substitutes around dental implants? This presentation aims to present advances in the application of ADM specifically around dental implants.

Objectives:

• To understand the special considerations for soft tissue grafting around implants
• To understand the role of tissue substitutes and specifically acellular dermal matrix in dental implant applications
• To understand how to apply tunneling techniques with ADM around dental implants
