The Gain in Pain May Lie in the Brain - Persistent Neuropathic Orofacial Pain

The Gain in Pain May Lie in the Brain – Persistent Neuropathic Orofacial Pain Presented by Dr Sarah Chaw

As dental practitioners, we frequently encounter orofacial pain conditions in clinical practice. In most cases, this is dental in origin; however, we must remain cognizant of non-odontogenic pain conditions which can often mimic dental pain.

Neuropathic orofacial pain can present a diagnostic dilemma for clinicians, and can also develop following dental treatment (including dental implant procedures).

This presentation will provide you with an understanding of why and how neuropathic orofacial pain develops, and what you should look out for in your clinical practice.
