Corrosion and fatigue - biomechanical mechanisms of failure in implant treatment - Prof. Neil Waddell

Corrosion and fatigue - Biomechanical mechanisms of failure in implant treatment

Analysis of mechanical failure of implants, suprastructures and prostheses often point to fatigue failure and corrosion fatigue. The presentation will review typical bite forces and how they can lead to initiation of fatigue failure in various restorative materials. Being aware of these factors will help practitioners minimise or avoid them in treatment planning.
