DIGITAL IMPLANT DENTISTRY: PLANNING TO EXECUTION

Digital technology has been incorporated in the field of implant dentistry to improve treatment efficiency and predictability. One of the major developments has been the introduction of guided implant surgery allowing a predictable way of transferring the restorative driven treatment plan to the surgical site. During this meeting Himanshu will go over the guided implant placement pathway including the initial data acquisition phase, the planning phase where implants are virtually placed and surgical guides are designed using a computer software, and the eventual execution phase involving implant placement with the help of 3D printed surgical guides. The use of guided implant placement will be discussed from an evidence-based perspective followed by case presentations.
