Periodontal colleague Dr Azim Malik will present the new Periodontal Guidelines and its implication in everyday practice. He will also look at how this will affect our implant patients.

Was also will be having a treatment planning discussion, so if you have a case or any scans you wish to bring along, please do so and we can discuss informally amongst us.

Bio

Dr Azim Malik

BDS, MFDS, Dip Pcd RCS, MClin Perio

Azim Malik graduated from the University of Birmingham, School of Dentistry, in 2011. Following his vocational training year he worked in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery posts at Basildon & Thurrock University Hospital and Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford, Essex. Here he worked alongside Maxillofacial surgeons and acquired experience in treating patients with wisdom teeth impactions; TMJ dysfunction; facial trauma; head/neck cancer and those requiring reconstructive surgery.

In 2012 he passed his Membership of Faculty of Dental Surgeons exams and was elected as a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MFDS RCSEd). In 2014 he successfully completed and passed the Diploma of Primary Care Dentistry examination at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (DipPCD RCSI).

Azim is a specialist in the field of Periodontology (Gum Diseases, Surgery and Implants). He completed his training at the Royal London Hospital.

He has also completed the SAAD sedation certificate.

Azim enjoys treating anxious and nervous patients and putting them at ease. Patient comfort is his upmost priority. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry and his areas of interests include gum diseases, extraction of wisdom teeth and surgical extractions.
