Study Club Meeting Mar 20, 2024
From single implant to full-arch; What we need ro know.
Digital technology offers powerful tools in the armamentarium of clinicians that provide implant rehabilitation for partially and completely edentulous patients. Digital planning software for treatment planning, guided surgery modalities, digital impressions with intraoral scanners and CAD /CAM production with 3-D printers and milling units are currently integrated together enhancing treatment workflow. In this presentation, we will go through the treatment planning sequence in partially edentulous cases. \Ve will discuss the 3D implant position, preservation of soft tissues, provisionalization techniques, as well as implant abutment and material selection. The current scientific status and clinical protocols for complete digital workflows in fixed implant rehabilitation for terminal dentition and completely edentulous patients will be presented as well. Clinical recommendations and conclusions will be drawn for predictable long-term outcomes.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand the treatment planning process in partially and completely edentulous patients
- Understand the available materials and techniques for implant restorations
- Understand the prosthetic and surgical factors for successful outcomes in implant prosthodontics
- Describe the various applications of digital technology in terminal dentition cases and completely edentulous patients with fixed implant restorations
- Provide clinical recommendations for predictable long-term outcomes
