This lecture focuses on state-of-the-art surgical techniques, supported by evidence from basic scientific and clinical studies. With 35+ years of clinical experience in implantology, Dr. Buser introduces the evolving history and treatment concepts of implant treatment for partially edentulous patients. Valuable clinical advice is shared on contour augmentation with guided bone generation (GBR), 2-layer composite grafts, bone-conditioned medium, placement depth for tissue-level and bone-level implants, critical bone thickness around implants, case selection for immediate implant placement, use of short and/or narrower diameter implants, and more.
