Hopeless or hopeful? Retaining teeth in an era of osseointegration & Peri-implant maintenance - Dr Victor Kiven

Hello Brighton Study Club Members,

I kindly invite you all to attend our first meeting for 2021 with Dr Victor Kiven as our guest speaker. We had originally planned to host Victor last year and for obvious reasons in person meetings had to be cancelled. Thankfully it looks like we should be able to finally have our planned meeting in person rather than online.

The evening will be held at Sandringham Yacht Club. Meals will be slightly different to previous years with a two-course meal of a main with either an entrée or dessert being provided.

As a requirement of SYC and their COVID requirements/requests I need the all attendees names, telephone numbers (and dietary requirements) by the 19th of April. Please email me [email protected]

Additionally due to changes at SYC, depending on the numbers of ITI Brighton Study Club members attending, we may not be able to host additional guest, both ITI members and non-members, though I am happy to start a waiting list.

TOPIC

Hopeless or hopeful? Retaining teeth in an era of osseointegration & Peri-implant maintenance

So when is a tooth periodontally hopeless? Has the routine successful placement of implant supported prostheses changed the fundamental tenets of conventional dentistry?

To be followed by peri-implant maintenance.

A practical guide to how a specialist periodontist views prognosis and maintenance.

Dr Victor Kiven has been a specialist periodontist for over 30 years. He received his undergraduate and postgraduate training at The University of Melbourne where he is currently an Honorary Senior Clinical Fellow and has been teaching trainee periodontists for many years.

He is a past president and honorary life member of the Victoria and federal AOS and a Fellow of the ITI.

Parking : Parking should be available at the yacht club car park from the start of April, however if the SYC is hosting a sailing event on the same evening, parking is not available in the yacht club carpark and delegates are advised to park in the public carparks at the top of the hill. The yacht club has advised that credit cards are suitable to make payment.

Please arrive at 6:30 for a 7:00 start.

RSVP by Monday 19th of April via the ITI website AND please email your name and telephone number to me.

Kind regards,

Tennent and Gabriel
