About the Scholarship Center

About the Scholarship Center

Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology (PKU-SS) was established in 1941. It began as the dental clinic of the medical college of PKU and eventually evolved into the institution as it is today, a unique combination of education, clinical service, research, and prevention for oral health. It encompasses not only the School itself but also an internationally renowned hospital and research institute. In 2017, PKU-SS ranked at 13th in dentistry in the QS world university rankings.

The ITI Scholarship Center in PKU-SS involves four departments of the School of Dentistry: Department of Prosthodontics, Department of Implantology, Department of Periodontology, and Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. More than 10,000 implants are installed each year. The center places special emphases on the state of the art of digital implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, implant occlusion as well as on augmentation of soft and hard tissue and the manufacture of restorations. ITI Scholars will be involved in every phase of implant therapy, from diagnosis and treatment planning to post-treatment follow-up. Prosthodontic, surgical, and periodontal experience is provided.

PKU-SS keeps a very high level of scientific researches. It has a National Engineering Laboratory in Digital Oral Science and Technology, a National Clinical Research Center for Oral Diseases, an International Joint Research Center endowed by Ministry of Science and Technology of China, 2 provincial and Ministry-level Key Labs, etc. It also contains a Central laboratory, and other 8 technical laboratories. The ITI scholars can enter these high-level platforms to perform cutting-edge studies concerning implant therapy.
