My Year in the Land of the Rising Sun: An Evening with Dr Edwin Goh
Dr Goh was awarded the prestigious scholarship by the International Team for Implantology and spent his year at the Tokyo Medical and Dental University. In Singapore, most of our exposure to dental practice come from other English-speaking countries, so what was his experience in the Land of the Rising Sun like? How does health expenditure in Japan compare to Singapore? How is stem cell research conducted in the department?
Dr Edwin Goh earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2010. During his career as a general dental practitioner, he found special professional interests in Periodontology and returned to NUS to pursue his Master in Dental Surgery (Periodontology). He was then elected as a Member of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2016. After a period of advanced training at National Dental Centre Singapore, Dr Goh was accredited as a periodontist by the Singapore Dental Council in 2019. Dr Goh has been active in research and has published in international peer reviewed journals. In addition, Dr Goh is actively engaged in teaching and guidance of young aspiring dentists at National Dental Centre Singapore.
