This lecture and hands-on program will introduce participants to specific treatment options for implant placement with and without augmentation in the posterior maxilla.  Cases will be presented showing results of Augmentation of the posterior maxilla including direct and indirect sinus lifts. There will be discussion of patient selection, radiographic evaluation, treatment planning, graft material selection, surgical techniques for indirect and direct sinus augmentation procedures and potential complications.

Course Objectives

·        Understand the indications for performing a sinus lift

·        Understand the clinical assessment, radiographic techniques and interpretation necessary to plan the patient needing sinus augmentation

·        Understand the various surgical techniques for performing a sinus augmentation procedure. Indirect vs Direct Transcrestal and Lateral approach

·        Understand the potential complications associated with sinus augmentation procedures
