Halifax ITI Meeting 1: Dr. Eraldo Batista, Titanium Surfaces - And how they changed the way we place dental implants.

Titanium Surfaces - And how they changed the way we place dental implants.

Overview: The success of dental implants is intimately associated with the properties of titanium and its biocompatibility with bone. Since the discovery of osseointegration, titanium surfaces evolved from smooth, machined surfaces to bioactive treatments and coatings that increase bone to implant contact and accelerate osseointegration. This study club will focus on the evolution of implant surfaces and the biological principles that guide their use in modern implantology.
