Patient Dental Factors

This Learning Pathway addresses the various dental factors that can influence implant therapy and its outcome. The dental factors include reason for tooth loss, age of the patient, parafunctional habits and previous implant history and experience. The importance of considering dental factors are illustrated in the context of strategic considerations guiding decisions on tooth maintenance versus replacement by implants and in treatment considerations for the elderly patient.
