Diagnosis and Management of Biological Complications
Once integrated into the alveolar bone, implants can be affected by biological complications such as peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis. Clinicians must be able to monitor the health of the peri-implant tissues and to diagnose biological complications when they occur. These complications need to be managed using evidence-based strategies, and the efficacy of treatment, including the limitations of therapy, must be considered and discussed with patients.

On completion of this ITI Online Academy Learning Pathway, you should be able to...
- diagnose biological complications associated with dental implants
- describe the strategies for managing biological complications
