Assessment and Planning in the Esthetic Zone

A systematic approach to assessment and planning of implant therapy in the esthetic zone is very important. Using a standardized approach ensures that all relevant clinical and radiographic information is obtained in order to identify esthetic risk factors, and it also establishes realistic patient expectations from the outset. This Learning Pathway is headed by a lecture that sets out the key factors to implant therapy in the esthetic zone. The lecture is supported by a Learning Module on Esthetic Risk Assessment (ERA) and esthetic zone case examples.

On completion of this Learning Pathway you should be able to…

  • list the clinical and radiographic information of specific importance to assessment and planning in the esthetic zone
  • explain the importance of establishing realistic patient expectations to the esthetic outcome
  • identify risk factors in the management of patients with anterior maxillary tooth loss
