Hello Brighton Study Club Members,

I kindly invite you all to attend our first meeting for 2022 with Dr Gerard Clausen as our guest speaker.

The evening will be held at Sandringham Yacht Club.

Due to changes at SYC, depending on the numbers of ITI Brighton Study Club members attending, we may not be able to host additional guest, both ITI members and non-members, though I am happy to start a waiting list.

TOPIC - Regulation, risk and records

This presentation will review the current regulatory environment and the claims / notifications incidence, specific to dentistry. Certain clinical procedures which are high risk, along with clinical examples, will be presented.

Dr Gerard Clausen

Dr. Clausen is a registered specialist prosthodontist who has a private practice in Collins Street. He has a BDSc, LDS and MDSC from the University of Melbourne where he has been a senior clinical demonstrator for the DCD Pros. Program for over 30 years. Gerry has lectured extensively throughout every state of Australia, has run advanced and basic level implant programs in New Zealand and Australia and given lecture programs in China and America.

He has been involved in table clinics, lectures and live patient treatment in ADA Dental Congresses from 1985-1998. He is actively involved as a reviewer of textbooks, research applications and articles for publications for the ADAJ, ADRF and the ADAVB and is a member of numerous societies and committees. He is also dental consultant to several bodies including the Transport Accident Commission, WorkSafe Victoria and the Medical Indemnity Protection Society.

Parking: Due to the club hosting a sailing event on the same evening, parking is not available in the yacht club carpark and delegates are advised to park in the public carparks at the top of the hill. The yacht club has advised that credit cards are suitable to make payment.

Please arrive at 6:30 for a 7:00 start.
