IMPLANT PROSTHETICS IN THE DIGITAL ERA
Dr Ben Sellick B.Lab.Med(Adel), B.Dent(Hons)(Syd), D.Clin.Dent.(Pros)(Adel)
We practice dentistry in an ever-changing, yet fairly dogmatic, clinical world. Rarely do our cases tick the box of anything one might consider textbook. Remember occlusal amalgams?
Rather, day-in, day-out we are presented with challenging dental situations. Some new, some familiar, but each unique to a particular patient. The challenges require us to strike that workable balance between achieving incredible patient outcomes in a busy practice with increasingly less time.
We also need to manage high (or low) patient expectations in a digital age where everything is available with swipe or a tap.
This presentation is aimed at both restorative and surgical clinicians interested in the digital workflows available in implant dentistry today - let’s engage in an open discussion on whether dentistry is truly there yet when it comes to the digital space and how recent improvements can augment our daily practices.
