Lecture synopsis:
This lecture aims to focus on the prosthetic components of dental implants. This includes the discussion on the types of implant abutment (prefabricated and customised abutments), abutment handling and design for optimum success. Is the cast-to abutment still a relevant option for implant with internal connection? Is it possible for a dental implant to have both internal and external connections simultaneously in the design?
Implant screw, a frequently neglected part in the implant prosthesis also deserve a detailed discussion. This presentation will talk about the screw design and quality and its role in affecting the long-term performance of implant prosthesis.
