EVENT FULL, registrations closed-Perthshire Study Club visits Aberdeen: Implant Rehabilitation for Head and Neck Cancer Patients - How we Share the Care. (NB numbers limited to 22)

For this event we will meet in a venue in Aberdeen. The aim of this is to welcome and include all of our new members who are based much further north than Perth and to explore the possibility of the Aberdeen ITI Study Club re-starting.

Consultant in Restorative Dentistry and Lead for Head and Neck Cancer at Aberdeen Dental Hospital

Implant Rehabilitation for Head and Neck Cancer Patients - How we Share the Care.

Aim: To give an overview of the role of the Consultant in Restorative Dentistry within the Head and Neck Cancer MDT; including consideration of implant treatment in prosthetic rehabilitation and shared care with primary services.


Objectives: this presentation will:

1.      Provide knowledge of the primary and secondary care interface and optimum management for head and neck cancer patients throughout their treatment journey

2.      Discuss the impact on the quality of life in patients with significant anatomical alterations.

3.      Outline the long-term complications of this patient cohort and how best to manage them in primary care.

4.      Give an understanding of the use of implants in patients with complex anatomical changes related to head and neck cancer

5.      Relate planning techniques used in this patient cohort to best practice in less complex cases
