CONTEMPORARY TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES IN IMPLANT DENTISTRY
Dr. Mariano Polack received his dental degree in 1995, and his specialty training in Prosthodontics and Master of Science degree from the University of Minnesota in 2000. Since then, Dr. Polack has been in private practice limited to prosthodontics in northern VA. Between 2002 and 2004, he was a guest researcher at the Ceramics Division of the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Dr. Polack has published more than 40 abstracts and papers on prosthodontics and dental materials in various scientific journals, and lectures both nationally and internationally.
In recent years, technological and clinical advances have transformed the practice of implant dentistry. Implant connections that allow for a harmonious relationship between restorative components, bone and peri-implant gingiva have shown the potential to enhance final esthetic outcomes. Immediate loading of complete and partially edentulous cases has also become a well-established concept. In addition, the combination of high-quality scanners, low-cost 3D printers and open software place the dental team in a unique position to control all aspects of implant therapy This exciting presentation will focus on various areas of the implant restorative process including recent technological advances. Topics will include diagnosis and treatment planning in the esthetic zone, immediate implant placement and provisionalization, intraoral scanning, 3D printing and material selection for the final restoration.
