Cadaver course for complex surgical implant procedures

Course information

This three-day course comprises a full day’s lectures and discussion on all topics related to complex implant surgery. That is followed by two full days in the theatre working on fresh cadavers. Learn and practice suturing, human anatomy, Sinus LIfts (crestal and lateral) implant placement and removal, GBR, block grafting, soft tissue grafting and bone ring technique.

Anatomy review

Avoiding complications

Sinus floor elevation procedures:

  • Crestal approach
  • Conventional and newer atraumatic techniques
  • Lateral wall approach sinus floor elevation and augmentation
  • Sinus anatomy including the medial wall

Block grafting techniques:

  • Harvesting from the chin and ramus
  • Recipient site preparation and grafting fixation

Soft Tissue grafting procedures:

  • Flap design and management
  • Free and pedicle flaps

Day 2 and 3 hand-on workshops on cadavers

  • Sinus anatomy including the medial wall in relation to ENT procedures

Block grafting techniques

  • Recipient site preparation and graft fixation
  • Flap design and management

Soft tissue grafting procedures:

  • Free and pedicle flaps
  • Alternatives to autogenus flaps
  • Management of complications

Other information

Delegates on this course use fresh frozen cadavers for the most realistic experience and shared one between two delegates to ensure maximum learning time.
