Post-operative Biological Complications in Implant Dentistry: Are They Predictable?

Claude Michel Chaanine

This lecture focuses on general aspects related to risk factors known to be associated with biological complications: both those that occur during the implant healing phase as well as those that occur after loading. Emphasis is on the prevalence of such complications and the role of periodontal disease, hardware problems, behavioral factors and medical conditions, which are presented through clinical cases.

At the end of this Congress Lecture you should be able to…

  • recognize different factors that play a role in implant complications during the healing phase and after functional loading
  • recognize hardware-related factors that may play a role in implant complications
  • discuss different approaches for the treatment of implant complications
