Partial Root Extraction Technique at Immediate Implant Placement and Pontic Development Site

This lecture summarizes the morphological changes that follow tooth extraction and discusses various options on how to minimize bone resorption. The lecturer provides the evidence base for the available techniques present and highlights the potential drawbacks of immediate implant placement. The partial extraction therapy technique (also known as the socket shield technique) is illustrated and discussed. Several clinical cases illustrating the partial extraction therapy at immediate implant placement are included in this presentation.
