This lecture discusses a wide variety of complications with prosthetic procedures. Possible causes of these complications are outlined, ranging from treatment planning to dental laboratory issues. This presentation highlights problems of poor technical decision-making and execution as well as engineering and component failures. Clinical cases with advanced and complex prosthetic failures are presented to illustrate different scenarios and situations that can occur when planning and placing implant-supported prostheses.
At the end of this Congress Lecture you should be able to…
identify possible causes of prosthetic complications
recognize causes of mechanical problems and mistakes in implant prostheses
discuss how to prevent technical and mechanical complications, including dental lab issues
