How to Use Zirconia in Implant Prosthodontics?

This lecture discusses how to utilize zirconia in implant dentistry for abutments, veneered prostheses, and monolithic prostheses in light of 15 years of clinical experience. Benefits and limitations of zirconia in implant dentistry are thoroughly discussed, including optical properties and biocompatibility as well as chipping failures. The presenter shares best practices to avoid complications with both zirconia abutments and veneering ceramic. The lecture concludes with a discussion of an emerging CAD/CAM technology, the polymer-infiltrated composite network (PICN) materials.
