Hard and Soft Tissue Management in the Esthetic Zone – Part I

Luca Cordaro

This presentation reviews indications and principles regarding the timing and techniques of soft tissue augmentation, with an emphasis on sites in the esthetic zone. Using clinical cases this lecture demonstrates techniques that range from alveolar socket preservation to staged soft tissue grafting. The scientific background and evidence-based knowledge is presented for all techniques, with a rationale for decision making, depending on the clinical setting. In addition, this lecture includes information on the limitations of each technique as well as the most predictable techniques for the so-called average surgeon.

At the end of this Congress Lecture you should be able to…

  • identify when soft tissue grafting is indicated
  • recognize different timing strategies for soft tissue grafting
  • define surgical techniques utilized for soft tissue grafting
