Implant Placement with Simultaneous Contour Augmentation using GBR

Daniel Buser

Surgical treatment of a 67-year-old male patient exhibiting an extended edentulous space in the anterior maxilla after the removal of three hopeless incisor teeth.

The video demonstrates implant placement using a surgical stent according to the principle of prosthodontically driven implant placement. The deficient ridge is augmented with locally harvested autologous bone chips, a superficial layer of xenogenic DBBM particles and a resorbable collagen membrane. The surgery is completed with a precise, tension-free primary wound closure.

The case concludes with the presentation of the final prosthesis and the esthetic outcome, demonstrating stable soft tissue conditions and stable bone crest levels at the 3-year follow-up.

Produced in cooperation with CCDE and Video-Atelier Keel.

  • * General SAC assessment modifiers that are also part of the ERA. To avoid redundancy they are listed in this section even if no complete ERA has been made.

  • ** Not applicable to the ERA of immediate placement cases and replaced by "Socket Integrity" listed below under "Surgical SAC Classification". For all other placement types this value is a classification determinant and listed here even if no complete ERA has been made.
