Evidence-based implant dentistry (EBID) is part of the ITI’s DNA and its philosophy, and it is clearly reflected in our Purpose, Mission, and Value statements. Therefore, the ITI has developed a position paper with the aim to define EBID and offer a clear, consistent, and practical instrument to help its implementation in everyday clinical practice. To assist clinicians and lecurers with implementation in practice, the paper is accompanied by the 3E Check Tool, whereas the 3Es refer to external Evidence, clinician’s relevant Experience, and patient’s Engagement.
