ITI Scholarship applications are submitted via the application portal on this page, which opens each year on June 1 until June 30. Late applications will not be accepted. The application portal consists of a series of fields - an online application form - that must be filled out by the applicant.
ITI Members are requested to enter their login information (email address and password) via the application portal, while non-ITI-Members must create a profile by entering their personal details as well a valid email address and a password. Your email address and password are your login information, which you must use each time you return to your online application form.
Applicants are required to fill out the online application form exactly as stated, uploading documents as requested. The information must be saved after each session. Applicants may return to their online application profile and make any corrections or additions until the official deadline. It is possible to print out the application before submitting it. The application must only be submitted when all the necessary information has been included. After submission it is no longer possible to make any changes or print out your application.
All the necessary documents must be uploaded in PDF format as requested during the application process. Applicants do not need to upload a CV.
Applicants should provide a signed letter of intent (PDF) that outlines their interest and goals for the Scholarship year as well as their professional plans for the future. A photo (JPG) and two signed letters of recommendation (PDF) are also required. Where possible, one of the letters of recommendation should be provided by an ITI Fellow. Applicants must fill in all the information required, including naming two different ITI Scholarship Centers in order of preference.
Where signed letters are requested, the ITI Scholarship Committee does not accept copy-and-pasted electronic signatures. Letters must be originally signed and then scanned as a PDF.
Applicants must have a good working knowledge of the language spoken at the Scholarship Centers they have listed and are advised not to apply for a ITI Scholarship Center if they cannot speak any of the required languages. All letters must be written in English and be addressed to the ITI Scholarship Committee.
Only online applications that are complete, meet the application requirements and are submitted by the deadline will be considered.
Please refer to the application requirements for key information.
Once the application portal has closed, all submitted applications are forwarded to the ITI Scholarship Committee for evaluation. The Committee Members evaluate the submissions and then meet to discuss them and select the ITI Scholars for the coming year.
As the number of applications received is usually very high, the evaluation process takes a number of months. The Committee's decision is sent out via email to all applicants around 8 months after the application portal closes, around the end of March of the year following the application at the latest. As a matter of policy, the ITI Scholarship Committee does not go into the reasons for its decisions.
