About the Scholarship Center

At the Scholarship Center teaching is provided at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels, and there is also a Specialist Clinic dedicated to periodontology and implant dentistry. The Specialist Clinic is staffed primarily with specialists in periodontology and in oral surgery, a few general practitioners with a focus on periodontology and oral surgery, and dental hygienists. At the Specialist Clinic, treatment of periodontitis and management of peri-implantitis with conservative and surgical interventions, as well as implant therapy – including bone augmentation when needed – is delivered on a referral basis. Commonly, the prosthetic part is performed at the referring clinic, but occasionally, it is done at the university clinic.
The ITI Scholar can take advantage of the possibility of arranging auscultation visits for shorter periods of time at other specialist centers in Sweden. The center promotes knowledge exchange and collaboration, so that the scholar can get the most out of the scholarship year.
