Basic Chinese language skills are required to work with/treat patients.
Due to the one year duration of the scholarship and the primarily clinical focus of the program (80% patient care), initiating a full preclinical or clinical research project from scratch may not be feasible. ITI Scholars will therefore be encouraged to engage in ongoing clinical research activities within the department. With the support of their assigned mentors and collaborating ITI fellows, scholars can contribute to clinical data collection, retrospective studies, or systematic reviews. Scholars with a strong interest in research are expected to discuss their goals early with the Scholarship Center Chair to align expectations with available opportunities.
During the scholarship year, the Scholar's time will be allocated to the activities below as follows (estimate)
The lectures, classes and/or courses the Scholar can attend will be held in English and Chinese. Language required for treating patients: Chinese.
