About the Scholarship Center

The Department of Stomatology at Ninth People’s Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, is one of China’s leading centers for implant dentistry, oral rehabilitation, and interdisciplinary treatment of complex oral conditions. Founded in 1920, the department has established a strong academic and clinical reputation in implant dentistry, periodontology, prosthodontics, and oral surgery.

The Second Dental Clinic, as an important teaching and clinical unit of the department, provides a highly stimulating environment for postgraduate education, clinical training, and academic exchange. Our Scholarship Center is particularly recognized for its strengths in implant surgery, implant prosthodontics, and multidisciplinary treatment, with extensive experience in complex bone augmentation, rehabilitation of severely resorbed edentulous jaws, and implant treatment for patients with congenital tooth agenesis. Clinicians at the center are actively engaged in digital workflows and the application of artificial intelligence in diagnosis, treatment planning, surgery, and prosthetic rehabilitation. In addition, Scholars in Shanghai have the opportunity to participate in hands-on training, workshops, and the ITI Shanghai Education Week, offering broad exposure to advanced implant dentistry, digital technologies, and interdisciplinary care.
