This four-day ITI Education Week, held at the Melbourne Dental School (University of Melbourne), is designed for clinicians with experience in implant dentistry at an advanced level who wish to expand their focus beyond osseointegration alone and master the critical role of peri-implant soft tissues in shaping long-term success. Under the theme “Beyond the Bone: Shaping Implant Success with Soft Tissues & Digital Planning”, the program blends biological principles with state-of-the-art digital workflows to provide participants with a comprehensive and contemporary perspective on implant therapy.

Learning objectives

  • Understand the loading protocols proposed by the last ITI consensus for immediate implant placement in the esthetic zone.
  • Learn about the current evidence on patient selection for immediate implant placement in the esthetic zone.
  • Understand the step-by-step process of digital planning and pre-fabrication of an immediate restoration.
  • Understand the principles of the “10 keys” treatment algorithm for successful and predictable placement of immediate implants in the esthetic zone.
  • Digital implant workflows in advanced and complex cases.
  • Digital imaging and digital surgical planning.
  • Peri-implant soft tissue management
  • Management of soft-tissue graft and substitutes (wet lab)

Course details

The curriculum highlights cutting-edge approaches in soft tissue augmentation, management, and preservation, alongside precision-driven digital planning tools for prosthetically guided implant placement. Through a combination of evidence-based lectures, interactive team case presentations, live demonstrations, and simulation-based practice, participants will explore how soft tissue health, aesthetics, and function can be predictably enhanced when integrated seamlessly with digital technology.

This immersive week offers every participant the opportunity to critically engage with leading experts, analyze complex cases from multiple viewpoints, and apply new skills in a supportive, hands-on environment. The Melbourne Education Week is set to deliver a transformative learning experience that empowers clinicians to elevate their practice and achieve more predictable, biologically sound, and aesthetically pleasing implant outcomes.
