The promotion and financing of research projects in implant dentistry and related fields is the central activity of the Research Committee. Since its establishment in 1988 the ITI has financed more than 400 research projects and invested over CHF 46 million for research grants. According to its own estimates, ITI is the largest non-governmental organization to assign research grants in implant dentistry and related fields. Funding is not restricted to ITI Members and Fellows, but is open to applicants worldwide. The Committee meets twice a year to decide on project support.
