ITI Congress Denmark: Unique combination of education and social interaction

Last weekend, the 6th Danish ITI Congress took place in Nyborg. Directly located on the Danish coast, the event provided both a high-quality scientific program and a lovely venue. Under the umbrella theme “Treatment planning. Tooth or implant?” various topics were addressed: general principles for treatment planning, treatment planning for patients with periodontitis, severely damaged teeth with endodontic problems, traumatic tooth injuries as well as partial tooth loss and complete edentulism.

The faculty, consisting of six Danish speakers as well as Prof. Frauke Müller and Dr. Stephen Chen, ITI President, presented its insights on the topic and provided the audience with important updates on key issues related to treatment planning.

200 participants from all over Denmark came to the small island of Fyn in the middle of Denmark and enjoyed a day full of expertise, varied lectures as well as a delicious dinner, including a wine tasting, the evening just before the congress.

“It was our goal to update the participants on treatment planning concepts, enabling them to provide the best dental treatment for their patients” says Prof. Søren Schou, ITI Section Study Club Director. Based on the very positive feedback received, this goal was definitely achieved. In his opinion, the congress was ideal. The venue could be reached within less than two hours by car or by train from all over Denmark and the pre-congress dinner provided an excellent opportunity to socialize.

During coffee breaks, the participants could stroll through the exhibition and check out the latest products and services on the market. For the very first time, a half hour of the scientific program was dedicated to the exhibitors who could present their new initiatives and products live on stage. This new concept was well received by the audience.

Prof. Søren Schou adds: “The congress fulfilled our expectations. All participants were updated on the most important aspects related to treatment planning. All of them enjoyed the unique combination of education and social interaction in an outstanding location”.
