Conflict of interest statements

In order to clarify any potential conflicts of interest, the ITI Research Committee members have submitted the statements below.

Lisa Heitz-Mayfield, West Perth, Australia (Chair)
Professor Dr. Heitz-Mayfield reports grant support for a research project from the Osteology Foundation as well as lecturing fees from Straumann, Nobel Biocare and the ITI.

Tara Aghaloo, Los Angeles, USA
Professor Dr. Aghaloo reports receiving grant support from Straumann for a clinical trial.

Bilal Al-Nawas, Mainz, Germany
Professor Dr. Dr. Al-Nawas reports lecturing fees from mectron, dentsply, Straumann, Camlog and Geistlich. He also receives fees for his work as an Editor for Quintessence and Springer as well as grants for IIS from Dentsply and Geistlich, and a grant for a clinical study from Straumann. He is further active in the Osteology, PEERS and Camlog Foundations, and is Secretary General of the DGI (German Society of Implantology).

Mauricio Araujo, Centro, Maringá, Brazil
Professor Dr. Araujo reports lecturing fees from various educational activities for Geistlich Pharma AG.

Juan Blanco-Carrion, Santiago de Compostela, Spain
Professor Dr. Blanco-Carrion reports lecturing fees from Straumann, the ITI, and Mozo-Grau. He also reports support from Straumann, Lasak, Mozo-Grau and Camlog for research projects at the university.

Urs Brägger, Bern, Switzerland
Professor Dr. Brägger reports lecturing fees from Straumann and the ITI.

Steven Eckert, Byron, USA
Professor Dr. Eckert reports a financial interest in RODO and sits on their Advisory Board. He also sits on the Advisory Board of Ivoclar, in which he has no financial interest, and receives a travel grant from the company for attending an annual meeting. He lectures periodically for Straumann and also for Osstell and is participating in research with the Osstell. In addition, Dr. Eckert is Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants for which he receives an honorarium.

Ronald Jung, Zürich, Switzerland
Professor Dr. Jung reports receiving grants and consulting fees from Straumann, Geistlich Biomaterials, Vita Zahnfabrik, and Karr Dental. He also received a grant for a preclinical study from Henry Schein.

Johannes Kleinheinz, Münster, Germany
Professor Dr. Dr. Kleinheinz reports receiving grant support from Straumann and the ITI and fees for lecturing for ITI, Straumann, Resorba, Medartis, Camlog and the German Dental Association and the German Medical Association as well as a honorarium for committee work for the German Board for OMFS.

Michel Mallaun, Basel, Switzerland
Dr. Mallaun reports that he is an employee of Institut Straumann AG.
