Indication 8 Case 3

Single tooth gap mandible

Frank Higginbottom, Dallas TX, USA
Tom Wilson, Dallas TX, USA
Jeff Singler

The patient presented six weeks after placement of an 8mm x 4.1 mm ITI solid screw implant.

Healing abutment removed exhibiting good placement position and healthy gingival tissues.

4mm solid abutment placed and torqued to 35 Ncm.

Torque devise applied and abutment secured without incident due to successful integration of the SLA surface

Impression coping positioned on the shoulder of the implant.

The positioning cylinder of the proper dimension is carefully inserted over the abutment.

An impression is made with a two phase polyvinyl impression material.

A 4mm laboratory analog is positioned in the impression.

The master model is poured in type 4 dental stone for fabrication of a final restoration.

To initiate the restorative treatment a provisional restoration is required similar to procedures performed on teeth. A coping is created from sheet resin adapted to a model of a diagnostic waxup

Self polymerizing resin is mixed and allowed to develop a thick consistency. This technique allows for an impression to be taken of the abutment with the provisional material.

The coping is seated over the solid abutment and impression made of the abutment and shoulder.

The coping is seated over the solid abutment and impression made of the abutment and shoulder.

After complete polymerization in the mouth the provisional is placed on an analog in the laboratory.

Self polymerizing resin is flowed into the discrepancy that soft tissues excluded in the mouth.

The provisional is trimmed on the analog or practice implant and polished.

The finished provisional is adjusted and cemented to the solid abutment.

The provisional restoration maintains soft tissue health during the fabrication phase of treatment, which usually takes several weeks.

An all ceramic restoration is fabricated.

The all ceramic restoration provides excellent esthetics, strength, and function.

Final restoration facial view.

Final restoration occlusal view.

Final radiograph.
