Scholarship Center

Harvard School of Dental Medicine, Boston MA, USA

The ITI Scholarship at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM) is based in the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Biomaterials Sciences. The ITI Scholars are directly working with Dr. Weber, the department chair, who is dual trained in prosthodontics and periodontics. They also have access to other faculty members representing the various specialties involved in implant dentistry. The clinical activities take place within the state-of-the-art Harvard Faculty Practice. There, the scholars are involved in patient care, i.e. primarily comprehensive implant dentistry, including treatment planning, surgical placement and restoration of dental implants. Additionally, clinical teaching of predoctoral students for at least one day per week is part of the program. The scholars also have access to lectures and interdisciplinary seminars offered in HSDM’s advanced graduate specialty programs. Involvement in research or other scholarly activities is recommended and available on an ad hoc basis. Applicants with advanced graduate education in periodontics, prosthodontics or other significant restorative dentistry experience are preferred. It is also expected that applicants are proficient in English to properly communicate specifically with patients and students.
