The Program

An ITI Foundation program to promote implant dentistry and its related fields

Goals
The main goal of the Clinical Scholarship Program is to help young clinicians who would like to further their training in implant dentistry and dental tissue regeneration, with particular emphasis on case planning, implant surgery and prosthetic restoration. Candidates are required to make a commitment to passing on their knowledge to others as ITI teachers as well as to understanding and respecting the ITI philosophy and standards. The ITI Scholarship Centers have been chosen for their ability to provide insight into every aspect of implant treatment for patients. Each Center and its Scholarship coordinator organizes the Scholarship program independently. Candidates can determine where their needs would be best served by reading the descriptions of each of the Scholarship Centers on this website. Any issues or queries may be discussed before application by contacting the Centers directly.

Professional requirements
Candidates must have a BDS, DDS diploma or equivalent. In addition, at least 3 years of post-doctoral professional clinical activities are also required and they should be no older than 35 years of age. Training in a specialty is preferred, but not obligatory. Scientific achievement is also taken into consideration when selecting candidates.

Duration of Scholarship and stipend
The Scholarship covers a period of 12 months – normally October to October. The ITI Foundation supports this learning opportunity with a stipend of 40,000 Swiss francs. This sum is intended to cover the majority of living expenses for the year. Availability of inexpensive living arrangements and other questions (visa requirements, etc.) should be discussed with the person coordinating the ITI Scholarship at the Scholarship Center.

The application
To apply, candidates should upload their letter of intent (Word or PDF) that demonstrates their commitment to teaching and education as well as a photo (JPG) and two letters of recommendation (PDF). Where possible, one of the letters of recommendation should be provided by an ITI Fellow. Candidates must fill in all the information required on the online application form, including naming two Scholarship Centers in order of preference. The application form and letters should all be written in English. Only online applications that are submitted by the given date will be considered. Please refer to the checklist for detailed requirements.

Language requirements
You should have a good working knowledge of the language spoken at the Center of your preference. Some Centers may request proof of proficiency in the language – please see individual Center requirements.

The deadline for Scholarship applications is December 15.

All applicants will be informed of whether they have been successful by the end of March of the following year.
