The ITI is a unique academic organization and a scientific network of dedicated professionals in implant dentistry worldwide. It has been growing considerably over the last years; to accommodate the needs of the growing organization, the ITI has decided at the Annual General Meeting in August 2003 to create two membership categories, Members and Fellows.

Qualifications and application process for Members
Membership is open to all professionals in implant dentistry who wish to participate in the ITI and abide by its principles. The ITI bases membership applications upon the professional qualifications of the applicant – an applicant must be a dentist, physician, PhD scientist, certified dental technician or a registered dental hygienist (with at least 2 years of basic training). Membership, while registered internationally with the ITI Center in Basel, is primarily based upon participation in local or regional ITI activities, i.e. Courses, National Section Meetings and Congresses. ITI Sections may, upon approval of the Board of Directors, set special membership requirements. Applicants from the US and Australia need a recommendation letter from a current ITI Fellow.

Membership dues
The annual membership fee for ITI Members is CHF 150 (Swiss Francs). The ITI will review and verify qualifications of the applicants. Upon approval, applicants will be notified and admitted to membership upon payment of dues for the year of acceptance as ITI Member.

Membership benefits
Membership in the ITI entitles you to a variety of benefits:

•	access to first-hand information on the latest developments in implant dentistry
•	a subscription to the » Forum Implantologicum, a regular print publication that combines clinically oriented contents based on scientific research as well as news and information from the ITI and its national Sections
•	a copy of the current volume of the ITI Treatment Guide with step-by-step instructions to various treatment options.
•	a reduced entrance fee to the ITI World Symposium and selected ITI events
•	and last but not least: a great opportunity to develop your own personal network with likeminded professionals, whose main goal is to constantly improve treatment methods in implant dentistry, for the benefit of patients.
