Foundation

Research is only meaningful when its results are consistently made available to those who can employ it.
ITI is not only a sphere of dedicated scientists but also a group of practitioners who champion the correct utilization of implant dentistry worldwide.

ITI is charged with three main responsibilities: research, development and education, the latter of which should promote the continuous communication among implantology experts around the world. To achieve this goal, a close working relationship is necessary. ITI therefore aspires for a climate of amicability and assiduous thought exchange among its members. Responsibilities are seldom delegated. The members themselves guide the work of the ITI businesses through the various stages. They have created a clear, coherent organization for themselves; fundamental decisions are determined at the general meetings of members. The Board of Directors, consisting of six members, conducts the organizational business and represents ITI to the outside world. Financing of ITI occurs through membership dues, contributions as well as from profits stemming from the association‘s assets.

The ITI Foundation was founded in 1988 by the two initiators of ITI, Prof. André Schroeder and Dr. Fritz Straumann. Dr. Straumann thus accomplished a plan whose actualization and financing he had prudently been planning for years. With a generous donation, he ensured that the ITI Foundation had a healthy financial start.
