About the Scholarship Center

Our center has been routinely involved with implant dentistry for more than 30 years. Historically, many of our professionals have become part of the ITI during their academic career. In addition, the University of Bern has the best record concerning further development of Scholars educated at the School of Dental Medicine in Bern.

The ITI Scholarship Center at the University of Bern involves the Department of Oral Surgery and Stomatology, the Department of Periodontology and the Department of Reconstructive Dentistry and Gerodontology. The University of Bern can accept two scholars per year. Responsible for the acceptance of ITI Scholars are primarily Prof. Daniel Buser (surgical scholars) and Prof. Urs Brägger (prosthetic scholars). This center treats roughly 700 patients annually with more than 1000 implants inserted covering the whole spectrum of patients according to the SAC classification. The postdoctoral training at the three departments is closely coordinated to transfer the comprehensive spectrum of implant therapy.
