Young and innovative speakers, a well-balanced program and stimulating discussion – all this made up the first ITI Congress Austria held in Salzburg. The topic of the two-day congress was “Hot spots in implantology” and the almost 200 participants had plenty of opportunity to talk to colleagues, ask questions and benefit from a varied program.
“Instead of focusing on familiar and often discussed topics, the congress aimed at debating seemingly unsolvable problems that are rarely reported on. We wanted to provide new and valuable insights and inspire the participants and I think we were successful”, said Alexander Gaggl, Education Delegate of the Section and Chair of the Scientific Program Committee. “We had very positive feedback from the participants, who particularly appreciated the practice-oriented approach of the congress”, added Sascha Virnik, the Section’s Communications Officer.
The main topics of the congress were treatment of peri-implantitis, digital workflow, ceramic implants, bone regeneration and future possibilities for regeneration. These were covered by top speakers from Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Sweden. “We deliberately invited speakers who were able to discuss case-based problems along with solutions that could be taken away and applied immediately“, explained Alexander Gaggl. An industry exhibition was also part of the congress and delivered an overview of the latest products in the field.
