Basel, Switzerland, June 24, 2013 – The International Team for Implantology (ITI), a leading academic organization dedicated to the promotion of evidence-based education and re-search in the field of implant dentistry, has published the final program and faculty list for the ITI World Symposium 2014 to be held in Geneva, Switzerland from April 24 to 26.
Under the heading “Knowledge is key”, the cream of the field’s opinion leaders will cover topics at the cutting edge of implant dentistry. The Scientific Program Committee comprising Stephen Chen (Australia - Chair), Daniel Buser (Switzerland), David Cochran (USA), Lisa Heitz-Mayfield (Australia), Thomas Taylor (USA), Simon Storgård Jensen (Denmark) and Daniel Wismeijer (The Netherlands) has designed a challenging scientific program with a strong practice-oriented approach to ensure that learnings can be immediately applied in daily practice. The meeting will cover three main topics that reflect the principal concerns of the dental community:
“The ITI World Symposium has a long and distinguished history, not least due to its excellent international faculty and the wide range of topical and often controversial issues under discussion”, commented Dr. Stephen Chen, Chair of the ITI Education Core Group and the Scientific Program Committee. “The theme of the 12th ITI World Symposium – ‘Knowledge is key’ – underlines the importance of evidence-based information for application in daily clinical practice. We are sure that participants will experience three days of stimulating presentations to provoke, interest and inspire.”
The Scientific Program Committee has also issued a Call for Abstracts for its ITI Research Competition. Submissions are being invited for an oral and poster presentation with a deadline for abstracts by October 31, 2013. Further information as well as the Call for Abstracts form can be found on the ITI World Symposium website.
Simultaneous translation at the ITI World Symposium is available in ten languages for all three main sessions. A half-day Pre-Symposium Corporate Forum on April 24 as well as an industry exhibition will complement the main program.
Following the success of the previous ITI World Symposium in 2010, the event is being held once again at the Palexpo congress center in Geneva. Its proximity to Geneva international airport with direct scheduled flights to more than 100 international destinations and its excellent infrastructure have proven Palexpo to be the ideal venue for the ITI World Symposium. Geneva’s central location in Europe and accessibility make it a perfect choice for a large-scale international congress.
